  • Updated graphics 👎

    By Mikael_M
This review is of the new update and not skyguide as a whole. I love this app don’t get me wrong, but this update takes away a lot of the beautiful graphics that made sky-guide my favorite astronomy app. It went from polished, beautiful graphics to slightly pixelated, beta-test style graphics. Please bring back the old style. Sincerely a concerned user.

  • New update is awful

I use to love this app, I used almost every night but after this recent update it’s really difficult to use. I miss the simplicity of the app, please consider adding an option to remove some of the new graphical effects and a FOV lock similar to before. Thanks

I love being able to identify stars and other heavenly bodies. This app even tells me what is below the horizon. Fascinating and enjoyable.
  • Don’t hesitate to buy this app! It’s amazing.

I have been using this app for a year now. My dad loves outer space. He has a telescope, and shows me different planets through it. I wanted to learn more, but didn’t have any good resources about the night sky. Sure, I could read about it, but it’s not that fun when I look up and can’t even figure out what stars I’m looking at. This app changed all that! All of a sudden I could quickly and easily find the names of all sorts of stars, as well as constellations. I have never ceased to be amazed by all the professional, yet easy to use features. Every time I learn about one thing (like the general path of a star) there’s something new for me to learn (like figuring out how to read altitude and azimuth measurements, provided in the app- which inspired me to make my own simple altitude-measuring device!) I am subscribed to the super-massive upgrade. I am soooo happy for the new feature of being able to zoom out all the way! I have wanted that feature for a long time. Only one recommendation for sky guide: It is a very annoying process when taking an AR photo. You cannot open AR and simply take a photo. You have to open AR, click on another button, take the photo, then scroll through a menu and select to save the photo just taken to “photos”. You have to repeat this process for every photo. Please just make a window pop up to ask if the user wants to always save to photos or not, and if so, just allow the user to press one button and have their photo saved. Thank you!

THe latest update was killer!! Sky Guide 8 is amazing. Very fast on my iPad Pro! And now it zooms where I pinch. (Not from the center of the screen) Highly recommended! Oh yes, I was so impressed my this update I subscribed to Super Massive! 1.7 billions stars and more and more....
  • Fun AND informative

I’ve been using this app for about two years: worth the price. It has wow’ed me with accurate info on constellations, meteor showers and (my favorite) ISS tracking. Friends and family have also enjoyed tracking astrological activity. My only wish for improvement would be to cancel sat alerts when skies in my area are clouded/ point in trying to see the space station at 5:28a.m when it’s overcast. Excellent tool for sky watching!
  • Great App to show kids
