  • Love da manga

    I like the on
  • Needs bookmarks

The app runs extremely well for me and for $2/month it has everything I want to read, which is awesome. However, it doesn't have bookmarks or a similar feature that tells me which chapters I've read and lets me pick up where I left off (even without downloading the chapter for offline access), which is a necessary feature for a manga app. I want to support manga creators and pay for what I read, but without that functionality it's hard to recommend the app. That is the one thing this app needs to become the #1 manga app, but for now I will have to find another one. I hope bookmarks are implemented soon, because when they do I'll come rushing back to this one.
  • Great value, but glitchy and lacking in features

Last year I decided to subscribe to Shonen Jump to keep up with a series that wasn’t getting new episodes for a while. I was pleased with how much content I got for $20, and the app worked just fine. I was very excited for the new changes coming to Shonen Jump, since I’d be able to start some new series and save a lot of money instead of buying physical copies. After the update however, the app has turned into a buggy mess, especially on an iPad Air 2. It takes forever to load the home page, and often lags for a couple minutes when you first open it. Available chapters for subscribers load pretty slow, and sometimes require reloading the app. On top of all the bugs, there are still several VERY basic features missing. You should be able to see all of the chapters you’ve already read, even if you haven’t downloaded them. It’s annoying having to guess where you left off, especially in series upwards of 100 chapters. Having a list of manga you’re currently reading would be a great addition as well. The new Shonen Jump subscription is a great idea and an extremely good deal. This service has allowed me to start many new series that I now read regularly. These bugs and issues have put me off from spending more money in the app on manga volumes since it’s more annoying to use the app than buy a physical copy. I hope that the problems mentioned can be fixed soon, as I do love the content offered.
  • App and Membership are 👍🏾 Some Suggestions Though.

Everything is great. Im binge reading Dragon Ball Super. I would Love to create a favorite list, also, if there where a way to actually purchase physical copies I would probably buy every single Dragon Ball issue. Because I would like to collect them all.
  • It does what it says it does

It’s pretty user friendly when it comes to actually reading manga, except I’m trying to sign up for the membership and when I click the button “only $1.99 a month” under the membership details section it doesn’t do anything. It worked once, but when my phone died while i was completing the transaction it canceled it and now the button is basically unresponsive. In my opinion it seems kind of stupid to make it so difficult for me to give you money.
  • Good but needs work

I wish it had some sort of collection system for manga you want to read that is available with the subscription service. And a bookmark system so I don’t have to remember what chapter I left off.
  • Great way to read your manga

  • Very buggy

The app is very buggy. It was working okay a month or so ago (although, even then there were some issues with smoothness and crashing), but I’ve had a lot of trouble with it recently. The lag is unbearable. I’ll click on things and it won’t respond at all or will respond minutes later. Restarting the app helps maybe 10% of the time. When I finally get a manga open, turning pages is also a hassle. Either swiping won’t do anything at all or the page will start to move right and I have to swipe persistently to slowly inch it to the next page. I wasn’t happy with it, but I decided I’d just try their web reader. Unfortunately, the quality is terrible! The resolution is bad and when I try full screen or zooming in, the quality just gets worse and I see compression artifacts and blurriness. Aside from the quality and performance issues, both the app and website are missing a lot of functionality for readers who prefer reading digitally. For example, a simple reading queue that allows me easy access to all the series I’m currently reading and that keeps track of where I am. I’m subscribed to Shonen Jump and keeping track of all of the series I’m reading is a hassle with the way it’s set up. But obviously, I can’t even read anything right now with the issues I’ve been having so fixing that comes first. It’s a real disappointment and I hope they fix these issues soon.
  • Lag central

The app is great in terms of content but using it is a nightmare, it constantly lags and I have to close it out to get the next page to load. Sometimes it goes on a hot streak where it functions normally. But it’s not common.
