  • Invasive data gathering app

This app requires an email address or Facebook login before it’ll operate. I’m not so bothered by that as you can put in any nonsense email address and it’ll work. To be fair, it works ONCE before that was necessary. What bothers me is then it demands a reminder to check your heart rate: daily, weekly or custom. There is no option to turn this off. I tried setting up a custom reminder and turning off all days but it wouldn’t work. The only reason for such tight controls is to gather data they have no business having. This app was deleted from my phone within minutes of opening it.

Use to use this for free all the time a year ago, but now it looks like the free option is locked out.

After 9 pulse measurements over a couple days I now can’t do anything without going premium. Nope. You guys have a poor business model and wasted my time.

I have been using this app for a while. One Saturday I felt my heart racing and used the app. My heart rate was 153. I thought this can’t be right. It went like this the whole weekend. At work on Monday, my heart was still racing. I really didn’t think much about it. I walked two miles that day. The next day this was still happening. I took my heart rate with the app and it was over 160. I was light headed and just felt weird. I went to the ER and after an examination, the doctor told me I was in Afib. I was admitted to the ICU and my heart was set back into a normal rhythm. I’m set to see a cardiologist and I am being treated for sleep apnea. I’m on meds to keep my heart in rhythm normal. I am a 52 year old woman. My mother died suddenly of a heart attack at 53. If I hadn’t been keeping track of my heart rate, I would just have put it down to fatigue or menopause. This app is correct.

Nice idea, but no. The “free” demo only works just long enough to start demanding money or personal info.
