  • Great product - easy to use and excellent support.

I found this to be a great help in writing chord progressions as well as a practice tool. Initially, I had some install issues, but their support, Niki especially, has been very helpful and persistent until the application worked as it should. I would encourage you to use this app.
  • Very good!

I use it to chart tunes both for myself, for learning, and also for other musicians I play with. I've been using it for several years, on the Mac. There's certainly room for improvement, especially in the user interface, but overall, it gets the job done. High points: - Enter the chart in any key; transpose to any key for printout. You can also display in number notation. - You can play the chart back in any key, and at any tempo, and in any of a list of styles. Honestly, I rarely find a style I like; but it's fine just to hear the chords to make sure you've got them right, or even to practice against. (There are some extra-cost style options, but I've not tried them.) - Their tech support is very knowledgable and quick to respond. The searchable user forums also provide good answers, expecially when their tech support people respond publicly.
  • Tick Tock

I am reminecent of a handheld Casion keyboard as the sounds in this apps sound like a metronome toy. Very disappointed as when I went to pull the blues track,,yep they wanted another $3.99. I am not happy at all with platform. I have apps that I have paid $5.99 for an they sound good. This sounds like a toy and hardly anything to play with or to. CRAP!
  • Great for charts, bad for playalong

I love the fact that I can can write nice looking charts with this app, however, it has the worst sounds I've ever heard. They are fake, synthetic, and the rhythm tracks are souless. It is so distracting that I find it impossible to play with. Why not use real instruments with real people playing them? I'd pay extra for that.

  • Great app!

I have been enjoying iReal Pro on my laptop computer. I learned how to write my own charts too. It is a great practice tool…! I recently added the app on my iPad (for onstage use), and my iPhone. Everything is in sync, and updates on all my devices. Onstage, I will now have all my charts in proper order… no more fumbling around with paper charts…. highly recommend. I had questions requiring tech support. They responded promptly and were very helpful.
  • Great, but...

Recently my songs aren't showing up in the different categories. I can't see any menu of songs, only the categories. If I know the name of the song, I can search it and it will come up, but I can't browse songs. I don't know what happened. Please fix this!
  • This app is amazing

I wish I had this as a teenager. This is great - the 1-star reviewers baffle me. It's a free app that lets you download changes and change up tempo, loop a section, try different rhythms, etc. Who would complain about that. The best players out there (in jazz at least) know about this app and use it, and that says it all.
  • More styles would be useful

    By wgalison
Generally I love the App. It is great as a simple library and practice tool and for making simepl charts. There are some common styles that conspicuously absent. Some simple hip hop beats with backbeat and swing would be useful. Also more afro cuban styles. Feel free to charge for new sets lik you did with the blues, but PLEASE make these available
