  • Awesome app

This app is really awesome. Especially when my son wants to hear what a certain bird sounds like. There was a slight hiccup when I was asked to repurchase the app after I had paid full price for it years earlier, but customer service was amazing and helped me out with no problem.
  • Bird Search?

Most of the features in the a app are great. The bird search feature is horrible. I live in Michigan and if I do a search by state, county, and month I get results such as Brown-capped Rosy Finch which only lives in Colorado. Another case, the Golden-crowned Sparrow only lives on the California coast. Of the 196 birds pulled shown by these filter combinations 21 of them are summer and the rest come nowhere near Michigan at anytime of year. If it was a free app I wouldn’t mind so much but it’s a relatively expensive with a well known name brand attached to it. If I were Peterson Field Guides I would be looking for a different developer.

I purchased this app many years ago and loved it. Kept track of my life list and was very helpful. Now I had to get a new iPhone and find out I have to pay for it again.

I purchased on my phone, apps usually transfer phones. Then it is telling me I need to pay again. Not worth it for the quality of photos on Peterson.
  • Liked and purchased the guide. Will not pay a second time for it.

Purchased the guide years ago and was happy with it. Did not receive any notice that there was a new charge to continue using it. Why must we pay again for something we already purchased at a premium? Very unhappy with this issue.
  • Poorly done!

I already bought this app once and now, after reinstalling it on my new phone it says my trial period is over! The app isn't even that great but this makes it seem like a scam. Come on, Petersons! Fix your app and your processes! I won't pay for this twice.
  • Customer service great!

I emailed customer service and had a resolution in a couple of hours. I think they are trying hard to be honest, and just had some hiccups. My access is fully restored. It would be helpful to make the email address easier to see when there is an error, and the website feedback firm no longer works for Captcha, but it is an amazing reference taking advantage of multimedia and also so much information in one place!
  • Not a bird person, but really like this app

First, I’m not a bird watcher person, but several years ago this was offered as a free download for iPad (it was on my iPad 2, so that long ago). Since that time I’ve had an iPad Air 1 (still have it) and about a year got an iPad Pro 12”. This app has worked fine on every iPad, and iPhone I’ve had, never asking to purchase again. Maybe because I got it free... who knows. But it seems my free version still updates and seems to have all the features. I’ve used it a few times to identify birds in our area and just have fun with it.
