  • Great discovery- have the article read to you!

    By johnhh04
I love this app even more since I discovered the ability to have the article read to me. I constantly come across articles that I want to read but don’t have time to read it in the moment. This app allows you to save across all browsers and devices. The biggest problem I have always had with saving something to read later is the fact that I don’t return to actually read it because of time. But today I was up early and opened the app because I wanted to read an article that I saved yesterday and when I did this I noticed the headphone icon. I clicked the icon and it started reading the article. So today I was able to catch up on a dozen articles. Now I love this app even more.

Discover feature never loads now. Just remains blank. Love saving stuff, but I miss the discover feature.
  • Pocket Power User...SOOOO frustrated with search functionality

    By zcochran88
I am a Premium Pocket User. I bought Premium not because I needed the features, but because I loved the app that much. For the last 4-5 years, I have been in the top 1-5% of readers on the platform. I would tell everyone I knew about Pocket. Pocket developers, you have made the app unusable for me. I have saved about 400 of my favorite articles over the years, and there is no easy way to access them. Let me be straight with you—I will continue to be frustrated with Pocket until you fix the search feature. I should be able to type in 1-3 key words, like I do in Google, and filter the articles by my favorites. Unless I’ve missed something, this is impossible. I have saved about 10,000 articles over the last 5-8 years. That is a lot of stuff I will never read, and it has become super frustrating to find anything. I’m basically at the point where I need to manually go through and copy at all my favorites (by the way, your export feature was NO help with this) to a new Pocket account and start over. Want to really help me out the easy way? Please email me an export of all my favorite article URLs. Please, please fix your filtering mechanism within the app, and make it faster. You could fix your recommended articles feature too, while you’re at it. Not the one where Pocket recommends articles, but where I share them. The whole app feels like it’s trapped in the early 2010s. Even your new Beta on desktop is frustrating, because while it is clean, it’s no help in managing and organizing the content I have already saved. I get it, the original goal was to “read it later.” The problem is that when I want to read it again, or recommend it to someone to read, it’s impossible. So, so frustrating, because this could be such an invaluable resource that I would pay a lot more than $45 a year for. I’m using this as a quality content database, and it’s not functional. I’ve chosen not to renew my subscription because this is so frustrating. If I’m using the app in a way you don’t want to fix, fine, feel free to respond and let me know. You’re welcome to email me or contact me to talk further. My username is zacharymcochran. Thanks for listening.
  • Pocket is saving me

    By Makan Abazari
Long time ago mind control started making me unable to see when writing and make feel so sick when study by reading papers and books are banned to me as well due to use of laser. Only thing remains is some desktop app and pocket. This way I can listen but some of material still cannot be thought and I get distracted when important information is entailed by hostile mind control. One day I will need pen and papers and offline computers to read but that day has been delayed. I need to soon become similar to investigative Journalists so I can teach better. I still give directives and it is and thanks for the text to Audio software. But please don’t track the articles studied or I must start flooding them with bullshits so the good articles are hidden. Also remove Archives and add delete article. Delete Article must be easy access and history must be encrypted.
  • Cliff Notes on steroids!

    By Lifelongreader43
Nearly all of the articles I’ve downloaded to POCKET provide a well-defined synopsis of a particular subject. Plus, usually include bibliography references with keywords so I can dig deeper. Truly, a wonderful time-saver.
  • Can app return to last place in article upon launch?

    By Yaj6027
That’s one thing I like about Instapaper over Pocket. But the aesthetics of the app & the integration with my fav browser (FireFox) puts Pocket into my #1 go to app for saving/archiving articles from the web.
  • I’m addicted to Pocket

    By Shar021781
I am always looking for tons of resources and Pocket helps me save articles for later. I love that I can organize everything by adding tags. I don’t know what I’d do without this app!!
  • Almost perfect

    By DLL3000
I switched to Pocket when Instapaper failed in Europe last year. (I flew over there and didn’t know about the glitch ahead of time.) Pocket is great. It does a good job and is only missing one feature in my opinion: keyboard support. When I used iBooks on my iPad Pro, I can hit the space bar or arrow keys to turn pages. In Safari, I can hit the space bar to page down. In Pocket, nothing. But I’m happy with the tagging support, and it does a good job on almost every site, converting busy HTML pages to simple text.
  • Keeps losing my saves at sync

    By Thedukekim
Huge fan of Pocket for years but recently ran into an issue whereby my most recent saves all get lost when I sync via app. I have an iPhone X, latest iOS, and latest pocket app. Been happening for a few months now :(
  • Just lost two stars

    By NYCtoPDX
My first review view of Pocket, two years ago, was a five-star rave. But now we’re down to three. One star gone, because the app crashes or acts unstable about 10 percent of the time. And one more star deducted for the asinine ads that now install themselves on the list of saved items: I’m unable to erase them, and I’m equally unable to determine what relevance they have. Going down....!
