  • Great ritualization!

    So far so good. The app is really smart and times into schedules and daily check-ins which will keep me coming back. The button colors for selection aren’t clear, it took me too long to know if blue was selected or if white was selected, I would recommend greying out the text on the I selected and adding a boarder or some other clear indicator to the selected button. I will give you guys 5 stars if you start using the Oxford comma. I keep seeing missing commas before the ‘and’ in a list and it’s super irritating.
  • Great but meditation part needs a necessary fix

    This is a great app. I love the workout routines and the recipes. I’m rating it 4 stars (for now) because I would like to see an issue resolved. I hope the developers will change the meditation feature. Whenever I play the meditation sequence, it stops at a few seconds after because my iPhone screen starts to sleep. Is there a way for the meditation sequence to continue playing even if the screen sleeps? It’s hard to meditate when I need to refresh the iPhone screen every time it stops or to keep touching the phone screen just so it won’t pause playing.

  • Best Fitness App

    I love this app! From fitness, to meal plans, and motivation, this app has a lot to offer. I’ve started with getting in shape with this app by getting cut, and have changed my goal to building muscle. I’ve enjoyed workouts from Tiff, Da Rulk, Luke, and Torre Washington. Every trainer has great workout programs to challenge you and get you to your fitness goals.

  • Beautifully laid out but not worth the $$ yet

    While beautifully laid out and with a very slick set of photos, videos and information, it’s not very easy to navigate, making it overly complicated to actually apply that knowledge. Other reviews seem somewhat polarized on this; either overly gushing and positive or lamenting shortfalls. It's unclear which are genuine. The workout section is the clearest with an easy way to follow the exercises and mark them off as you do them. And there are very clear tutorials. However, there’s limited flexibility; you’re either doing the exercise or you’re not. You can’t trade them in or out if you have an injury or don’t have access to weights etc.. An app like FitBod does a much better job of this. The meal planner is great for inspiration and the food looks amazing but if you don’t have a personal chef (or you actually have to go to work), you’re going to struggle to follow the meal plan. For example, coconut porridge for breakfast; 60mins prep time, 30mins cook time. How many people have time to spend 1 1/2 hrs. preparing breakfast? It would be far more useful to know the nutritional goal for the meal or day (protein / carb / fat per meal) and have a way to track against this, with the recipes, which are fantastic, as an inspiration for how to hit that goal (if you have time and the ingredients to do it). Content looks beautiful and it’s clearly taken a lot of work to build so hoping that it simplifies and fixes these things in time. For the time being, it doesn’t seem to be worthy of the subscription cost. (U$95 to U$180 per year depending on whether on a monthly, 3 monthly or annual subscription at time of writing).

  • Apple Watch integration problematic

    The workouts are good. However the Centr app on Apple Watch doesn’t track either the time or the calories burned during the workout correctly - I consistently see workouts of duration of just a few seconds recorded although I completed the entire workout.
  • Programming is non sensical

    I love testing new fitness apps, I love the UX here, but I find the workouts to not make sense for goals. I get they’re trying to make the workouts more “lifestyle” but if you have specific goals it’s irritating to see the app naturally add random yoga or Pilates workouts making it so you have to change the workout which you can do but then your options can be limited and without a good understanding of fitness you could be led astray. I’d like to see a bit more structure towards goals and maybe a less holistic approach for what they charge. I’d also like to see more options for food, but I mean what they give you is fine especially if you aren’t a picky eater and have a higher budget for food. Also I get the core demo the app aims for is probably higher income, but most people wanting a fitness app to help them are probably lower to mid income from my experience anyway. So maybe keep that in mind during future updates.
