  • Some potential but just not worth it.

I like the concept and the app seems decent, but $4.99 a month for four locations? I guess expect more at that price.

Hi guys, I want to congratulate them for the initiative in creating an app, showing all the most interesting spots in a city. I think above all information sharing is very important for everyone's growth. Congratulations and have our support.

This app has helped me take my photography to the next level. Incredibly excited for the team to add more locations and features as time goes on.
  • Great (in concept)

While the functionality this app sets out to have is very cool and useful, it’s immediately locked behind a paywall. What’s the point of even using this app if it won’t tell you where the spots even are without a monthly/yearly subscription. Again, without the paywall, or maybe just a one time payment I would genuinely be more likely to use the app, but in the state it is now, it has been deleted off of my phone.
  • Dope concept - lame content

The idea of this app is amazing, and I was super excited to check out a visual database of shoot locations, I had not previously heard of. But the locations are neither hidden nor gems. And a ton of the locations are actually just the same location listed multiple times. I scrolled past 3 different listings for the bow bridge in Central Park, all hilarious stacked one on top of the other in separate listenings as if they were different places. The beekman also has multiple listings, and is listed as free to shoot there(although it’s definitely not). The bloody angle has been shot and resisted from every possible angle. Also who’s this app for? Maybe a tourist with a selfie stick could get some fast action, but many, many of the places listed as free to shoot in actually require pretty extensive and/or expensive permitting. The metropolitan opera has some great looking staircases, but they would let you and your team just breeze in and do real work. 5star idea, but 0 follow through.

  • Better Payment Model

Subscription == deleted. Charge me a flat fee to purchase an area (e.g. California) and I would be all over this.
  • Good idea, poorly executed

As a photographer part of the game is finding locations, but that’s only one part the rest is using your eye to tell a story and make an image, and a bunch more of course. I find this app to be good in concept, but really limited information and basically no community. You can do everything this app claims to do for free already on IG, it’s still fairly easy too and you can interact with the creators. I love and hate IG but it basically is what this app is doing, for free. I’m giving it a star because in concept it’s a great idea, sharing places and ideas is part of the art. Although I didn’t see really any place on here in my city I didn’t already know about so the “promise” of more places is sketchy, and you get basically nothing under the free plan. I’m a big fan of the all trails app, and this should follow that model if that’s the creators intent but it’s not even close, I just honestly don’t know who is this app is for? Photographers already know how to find places, the average person will likely just use IG. The nail in the coffin was the spammy email they sent me with the “feature” to learn where the photographer actually stood for the paid plan, are you kidding me? I laughed so hard at this. Again I think the intentions are good here, but the constant cash grab drove me away really quick and the realization of barely any useful features even when paying. I hope things improve, but the constant cash grab worries me. Will check back at a later time and hope this improves, but right now I just can’t support this one and have no use for it.

If I could give this negative stars I would. This is literally the epitome of why Instagram and social media is ruining art and creativity. The reason New York is so amazing is all of its hidden gems and back alleys, under the bridge vistas and unique architecture. If you want to find a “great location” then do the hard work, research and explore like someone who has a passion for the art. All this app will do is flood the streets of various cities listed with people who want the next Instagram post. It’s a shame that you’re selling photography locations to people for your gain at the loss of every photographer or explorer who has spent countless hours finding unique vistas and backdrops for beautiful photos.
